City of Cottonwood Seeking Applicants for Fire Division Chief-Community Risk Reduction within the Cottonwood Fire Department
COTTONWOOD, AZ – The Cottonwood Fire Department is seeking motivated professionals to join our team as a Fire Division Chief-Community Risk Reduction. This position plays a vital role in protecting lives and property through responses to emergency calls for assistance from the public and directs fire suppression, emergency medical treatment, rescue, hazardous materials incident mitigation, and special operations. This role is primarily responsible for all aspects of the community risk reduction operations of the fire department.
This is an exempt, full-time, classified position with full benefits. The hiring range is $42.29-$63.43. Those who are interested in this position are encouraged to apply online at cottonwoodaz.gov/600/Employment-Opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Arizona State FF II certification (or valid Pro Board/IFSAC FF II certification) and current Arizona EMT certification.
- Hazardous Materials First Responder certification (meeting OSHA 1910.120 requirements).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. The Fire Chief has the authority to grant
- exceptions to this policy.
- Must have eight (8) years of progressively increasing responsibility in the fire service, four (4) of which were in a lead or supervisory capacity, additional education and experience which demonstrates the ability to successfully meet the needs of the position.
- Must be able to obtain IFCI Fire Inspector, ICC Plans Examiner, within 24 months from date of hire, and continual progress toward Fire Investigator (1-4) with completion of series within four years of hire date.
