Kevin Murie embarked on his law enforcement career in 2004, starting as a police/911 dispatcher with the Cottonwood Police Department. Influenced by his parents—his father, a law enforcement officer, and his mother, a long-time police dispatcher—Kevin quickly developed a passion for serving his community.
After two years in dispatch, Kevin became a sworn police officer with the same department, where he steadily advanced through various roles, including SWAT, K9 officer, Narcotics investigator, and Sergeant. Each position provided unique challenges and opportunities, shaping his leadership and professional growth.
Now beginning his role as Commander, Kevin looks forward to fostering a positive culture within the department and continuing to make a meaningful impact on his hometown of Cottonwood, a community he’s proud to serve and call home.
