[ARCHIVED] City of Cottonwood Seeking Administrative Hearing Officer

The City of Cottonwood is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Administrative Hearing Officer. This appointed role is crucial in upholding the City’s Code and Zoning Ordinances through a fair, administrative process.

Term: 2 years

Status: Contractual

Appointment: By City Council

Application Deadline: August 22, 2025

Administrative Hearing Officers assist with enforcement of the Municipal Code and Zoning Code by hearing, deciding and resolving non-traffic violations designated as civil violations. The majority of the hearings will involve the enforcement of zoning, building and rental codes. The Administrative Hearing Officer is an officer of the City and are not officers of the judicial branch of government.

This position is independently contracted at a rate of $50 per hour.

Applicants must submit a resume and letter of qualifications and interest to tmayes@cottonwoodaz.gov or in person to the City Clerk’s Office located at 824 North Main Street. The scope of authority and powers and duties can be found under Title 2, Chapter 2.96 of the Cottonwood Municipal. Resumes and Letters of qualification/interest will be accepted at the City Clerk’s Office through 3:00 PM, August 22, 2025.
