Asphalt paving operations to occur along Main Street and N 10th Street; expect delays
COTTONWOOD, Ariz. – Asphalt paving operations are set to occur throughout the Main Street and 10th Street Improvements Project extents, as shown in the map below. The paving schedule is as follows:
- Wednesday, March 5: Crews will be paving the first layer of asphalt within the location of the new roundabout along N Main Street and N 10th Street (south of the N Main Street intersection).
- Thursday, March 6: Crews will be paving both layers of asphalt along N 10th Street and E River Front Road.
- Friday, March 7: Crews will be paving the final layer of asphalt within the location of the new roundabout along N Main Street and N 10th Street (south of the N Main Street intersection).
- Saturday, March 8: The existing road closures along N Main Street will be lifted. N 10th Street will remain closed just south of the N Main Street intersection, with detour routes posted.
Work will occur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Crews will be paving one side of the roadway at a time, with access remaining open for local businesses and residents in the area, including Dead Horse Ranch State Park and Blazin’ M Ranch. Motorists can expect delays of up to 30 minutes during paving operations. To access Old Town Cottonwood, please use Mingus Avenue and Willard Street. The City and their contractor ask that you please follow the marked detour signage to get to your destination and drive safely within the construction zone at all times.
Following paving operations, crews will work to finish the installation of new concrete sidewalks, driveway entrances and signage throughout the project area.
