Asphalt Paving to Begin Along Main Street

COTTONWOOD, AZ – The City of Cottonwood and the Arizona Department of Transportation are nearing completion of the Main Street Improvements Project. Starting Friday, January 9, the City of Cottonwood are set to begin asphalt paving operations along a section of Main Street, from Mingus Avenue to SR 89A/Cottonwood Street. This work will take place between January 9 and January 29 during the nighttime hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; however, traffic control will remain in place during the daytime. Business access will remain open during daytime hours.

During this work, you can expect:

• Work to occur seven days a week during nighttime hours (weather permitting)

• One lane of traffic in each direction

• Traffic control devices and cones in place at all times

• Temporary access restrictions to businesses and side streets during nighttime hours

• Rough road conditions

• Vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle detour

routes

• Flagging operations

• Loud noise

• Construction equipment in the roadway

• Travel delays
