Construction in Old Town set to begin the night of Sunday, July 20
COTTONWOOD, Ariz. – Our crews continue making great progress and are ahead of schedule! We are working to complete Phase 2 of the Main Street Improvements Project, which includes removing and replacing the asphalt pavement along Main Street (from the City limits to Cactus Street). With Phase 2 scheduled to be complete on Saturday, July 19, crews are set to begin work in Phase 3 of the project, which runs through Old Town Cottonwood, the night of Sunday, July 20.
Phase 3 is set to take place from the night of Sunday, July 20 to Sunday, August 3. Construction activities will occur at night from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., with road closures in place 24-hours-a-day. Construction activities include removing and replacing the asphalt pavement along Main Street, from Cactus Street to Willard Street. During this work, Main Street will be closed to all traffic. Traffic will be detoured down Cactus Street at Pima Street for the majority of Phase 3, with multiple detour routes and flagging operations in place during work between Pima Street and Willard Street. Please note that the portion of the work between Pima Street and Willard Street will be constructed 24-hours-a-day to expedite completion.
We will work to ensure access for deliveries and public parking lots, and access for pedestrians to businesses will always be provided during construction with extensive signage will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians to their destination. Please note that this work is highly weather dependent and subject to change.
