Election Results/General Information
The City’s general election will be held November 8, 2022, for the purpose of electing one council member seat that was not filled at the primary election. Lisa DuVernay and Debbie Wilden (incumbent) received a majority of votes cast at the primary to be elected as council members for a four-year term. Mr. Stephen DeWillis, the official write-in candidate for the primary election for a council member seat, received the required number of votes for his name to be placed on the ballot for the general election.
City residents who desire to run as a write-in candidate for the open council member seat during the general election, may pick up the required paperwork from the City Clerk. Write-in candidate paperwork is due by September 29, 2022, at 5 p.m.
Candidate Qualifications Requirements
A candidate for local office must be a qualified elector at the time of election. Any such candidate, in addition to other requirements, must be 18 years of age or more on or before the election, have resided in the city limits for one year preceding the election, and restored his civil rights if having been convicted of a felony.
