Cottonwood Parks and Recreation sponsors many community and special events throughout the year. Different events are geared toward children, families, or adults. Many of these events are free or at a minimal cost.

ANNUAL EVENTS

Annual Easter Eggstravaganza - April 4, 2026

The Annual Easter Eggstravaganza is the biggest and most popular egg hunt event in Cottonwood, AZ! We are excited to bring you another grand event this year that all kids ages 1 month to 8 years old can participate in! This FREE event is a community favorite and we look forward to having a safe, family-friendly, and hoppin' good time with you all! See you at Riverfront Park (1284 E. River Front Rd.)! The fun begins at 10 a.m. sharp!

Old Town Music & the Market - May, June, & September 2026

Join us at the Old Town Activity Park for the Old Town Music and the Market on Friday evenings in May, June, and September. Shop locally grown fruits and vegetables, handcrafted and homemade items, and more while listening to some of the best regional musicians. The first market of the 2025 season will be on May 9, 2025.

Summer Cinema Series - June thru August 2026

Join us for free dive-in movies at the outdoor pool of the Cottonwood Aquatics Center. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Gates open at 7:45 p.m. and admission is free!

Daddy Daughter Date Night - June 19, 2026 

A special night of music, dancing, great food, and memories for daughters and their amazing dads. The event will be held at the Cottonwood Community Club House (805 North Main St.) from 6-8 p.m. Semi-formal/formal dress is encouraged!

This year we will be enjoying food catered by Randall's Restaurant and our music will be played by DJ DBear!

Missoula Children's Theatre - June 2026

This year's play with Missoula's Children's Theatre is TBD. Registration opens TBDParticipation is FREE and all youth in grades 1-12 are encouraged to participate! Rehearsals and Showtime will take place at the Cottonwood Community Clubhouse (Cottonwood Civic Center) located at 805 N. Main Street, Cottonwood, AZ.

Fantastic Family Fourth of July - July 4, 2026

Join us for the Annual Fantastic Family Fourth of July celebration at the Cottonwood Kids Park on July 4th from 4-9:30 p.m. This family event has free food (hot dogs, chips, watermelon), games, vendors, patriotic salutes, and the best pyrotechnic show in Northern Arizona!

Halloween Trunk-Or-Treat - October 31, 2026

Princesses, dragons, ghosts, and ghouls! Join us on Halloween from 4-6 p.m. for a night filled with more tricks than treats! Join us in the Cottonwood Recreation Center's parking lot for a spooktacular night of trick-or-treating! Walk through the set-up of decorated car trunks that follow this year's theme of *TO BE DETERMINED FOR 2026*

This event is free and open to the public for trick-or-treaters of all ages! If you would like to decorate your trunk and pass out candy, be sure to contact Nick Hull via email at nhull@cottonwoodaz.gov

Walkin' on Main - TBD

The City of Cottonwood celebrates the Heart of Arizona Wine Country with the Annual "Walkin' on Main" in Old Town. The Verde Valley Wine Consortium, as well as art exhibits, retail vendors, a car show, and live music will accompany the charming galleries, shops, and local restaurants of Old Town Cottonwood.

Walkin’ on Main features a wine-tasting garden courtesy of the Verde Valley Wine Consortium, a car show sponsored by Red Rock Collision, and live music throughout the day. This is a FREE, family-friendly, event for all!

The Community Angels - November - December 2026

Help spread holiday cheer to the children in our community by participating in The Community Angels program. It's easy to participate! Simply stop by the holiday tree in the Cottonwood Recreation Center, pick a tag from the tree, register it at the Front Desk, purchase the item(s) on the tag, and return the tag and items (unwrapped) to the Front Desk at the REC. Please return the tag and items by TBD.

Breakfast with Santa - TBD

Join us for Breakfast & Photos with Santa! Meet Santa at the Cottonwood Recreation Center (150 S. 6th Street) on TBD from 8-10 a.m. This is a FREE event and perfect for kids of all ages! Come in your comfy PJs or dressed up in your very best!

Letters from Santa - November - December 2026

Great news! The Cottonwood Recreation Center has an official mailbox to Santa! Children can mail their letters to Santa in our special mailbox located inside the REC. Please include a return address/self-addressed envelope with your letter to Santa. Children can expect a letter from Santa himself all the way from the North Pole! No postal stamp is needed! Letters can be put in the special mailbox through TBD. The sooner you send in your letter the better the chance that Santa will have time to respond before Christmas! He gets quite busy during this time of year after all!

New Year’s Eve Celebration - December 31, 2026

Celebrate the New Year with the City of Cottonwood’s New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Cottonwood Recreation Center. Free for everyone! From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on December 31, 2026, we will have holiday movies, cotton candy, popcorn, hot cocoa, family games, and more! Then join us in the gymnasium to watch the Times Square Ball Drop along with sparkling cider and our own balloon drop celebration. This is a fun, family-friendly, and free event!
