Fantastic Family 4th of July 2011

On July 4th, 2011, the City of Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its 12th annual Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza. Pre-show activities start at 4:00 pm with a watermelon eating contest. Wrist bands will be available for purchase for kids to enjoy water slides and giant inflatable rides. Free food is provided to you courtesy of Fry’s Food & Drug and prepared by Hog Wild BBQ Restaurant & Verde/Clarkdale Kiwanis from 4 pm until about 6 pm. Soft drinks, glow necklaces and other items will be available for purchase during the event through the Cottonwood Youth Advisory Commission.

The countdown to Northern Arizona’s finest fireworks display will begin at 7:45 pm with music, presentations, and a patriotic salute by the VFW Color Guard. At 8:45pm grab a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for 35 minutes of lights, booms and ahhs as we celebrate or nation’s freedom. Come down, enjoy the day, have a picnic on us, listen to the music and enjoy the activities that the City of Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Department has put together for your enjoyment. Admission is Free! Parking is $1 and it benefits a local nonprofit youth organization.
