Doug is a fourth generation Arizonan and has lived 21 years in Cottonwood. He is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, worked 23 years in law enforcement in Arvada, Colorado and was an 8th grade science teacher in Camp Verde. He is now retired.
Doug graduated from N.A.U. with a B.S. in Police Science and Administration and has a BA and MA in Education. He has served on the Arvada, Colorado Design Review Board, Fostering Better Community Board, Crime Free Multi-Family Housing advisory board, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design board, and was a field training officer and in charge of the community policing program. Doug has served on the City of Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Commission for the past 17 years, 14 years as Chairman, and on the Trails Master Plan and budget committees.
His civic affiliations include serving as past president of the Telegraph Hill Optimist Club in Arvada, Colorado; Clarkdale B.P.O.E.; American Legion; and Verde Valley Veterans Service Park.
