The purpose of the City of Cottonwood Personnel board is to hear appeals of employees’ grievances, disciplinary actions, and dismissals in accordance with City policy and the policies set forth in the Employee Manual. The Personnel Board is also active in employee recognition programs. The five member board is made up of three elected City employees, elected by the employees of the City, to serve a two year term, and two citizens at large, who are appointed by the City Council, who will also serve a two year term. A member of the City Council shall be a member of the board but only be active in the employee recognition programs. A representative of the Human Resources Department shall also be appointed to the board and serve as the permanent secretary but is not a voting member.
