The Fire Department provides fire, EMS, rescue, hazardous
materials and disaster response and mitigation. Fire prevention priorities
are public fire and life safety education, plan review, code enforcement,
pre-fire planning and fire cause determination. The department's paramedics
and EMT's provide 24-hour emergency medical and rescue response. The department's
staff is trained in emergency disaster response and provides incident
management and scene mitigation during manmade or natural disaster situations
such as severe weather, flooding, hazardous materials, confined space,
mass casualty and technical rescue.
