    City burn permits can be obtained free of charge at Cottonwood Fire and Medical Department.

    Sign up for a class held at our offices.

  3. Car Seat Safety

    The Cottonwood Fire and Medical Department offers free child safety seat inspections.

  4. Fire Extinguisher Training

    We provide hands-on training and education to local businesses on the specific use of the different types of fire extinguishers.

  5. Fire Prevention Week

    Fire Prevention Week is celebrated in the month of October.

  6. Fire Sprinklers

    The City of Cottonwood has a sprinkler ordinance in place to protect lives and property in new residential and commercial construction.

  7. Investigations

    The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for investigating the origin and cause of certain "red-flag" fires.

  8. Juvenile Firesetter Intervention

    The Cottonwood Fire and Medical Department has a Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Program to help protect our children.

  9. Life Safety Inspections

    Safety inspections on all commercial properties are a top priority of the Fire Prevention Division.

  10. Plan Review

    The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for reviewing plans to ensure that all fire code requirements adopted by the city and/or state are met for any structure being built in our community.

  11. Public Education & Station Tours

    The Cottonwood Fire and Medical Department, in conjunction with other fire agencies in the Verde Valley, provide education in our area schools via innovative Spring and Fall programs.

  12. Safe Sitters

    Safe Sitter teaches adolescent babysitters how to handle crises, how to keep their charges secure, and how to nurture and guide a young child.

  13. Smoke Detectors

    Remember to test your detector once a month.

  14. Weed Abatement

    During the summer months, dry weeds, grass and brush present a severe fire hazard to our community.
